Each round is two days, this is a long time. Wink
can't you play even few games every two day?
If Baswai fails his tests, because he spends his time playing IT rather than learning, you're responsible, Roket! Razz

Edit:
Sorry to inform you, but Syo has signed off, because he is not satisfied with his current form. This means we are back to 16 players now (unless Baswai also doesn't want to play).

Too bad to hear that Syo isn't in. Sad
But still other players can sign in, I hope so. Smile

The Nations Cup 2008 has officially started.
First password: DOVE
Categories: Score and Floor (just to remind you, no change there!)

 ArrowPairings Round 1
  • PaperclipGames vs. Jacob
  • D_vonk vs. Baswai
  • Scibek vs. N1kola
  • Davo vs. KingDareK
  • Craven vs. FishFinger
  • Roket vs. Roman Nock
  • Bobo vs. Morten
  • Mizi Mace vs. Romek
Please remember to upload your replays and post a link in this topic until Tuesday 9 a.m. CET! (should be the same as GMT+1, Roket)
Note that ITC has some problems at the moment, so you need to use another site. willhostforfood.com is a good alternative, because you don't need to register first, but use whatever site you like. In case of problems you can also use Davo's email address (see first post), but this should only be for emergencies and is at your own risk, anyway, because mails are sometimes delayed.

Have fun! Very Happy

So we have to make two good games, one with score and one with floor, right?

You can use just one replay, if you're that lucky. Smile
This is also important, if you're close to missing the deadline, because even if you submit only a single valid replay, you've got a result for both categories!

Btw, you can update your posts with new results, but make sure that this happens before the deadline! The time of the post is relevant, not it's place in the topic!

Yes, but only with respect to the results you achieve during the tournament. So, without any previous results, all players are assumed to have the same skill in round 1 and are therefore matched randomly. Toward the end of the tournament, the system can match the players better and better according to their real skill, so on average you get more opponents with comparable abilities.
Of course, you can meet your "perfect match" earlier (and then won't meet him/her again in this tournament), but there's always a bit variation. On the other hand, if your opponent was to weak in one round, you're practically guaranteed to get a stronger opponent in the next round and vice versa!
(I'm sorry, if you imagined something else to happen, but there is no fair tournament system in which mismatched pairings don't happen!)

Btw, even if you feel like your opponent is too weak or too strong to take the match seriously, remember that every single point counts towards the final ranking! If you don't try your best in those matches, too, you might regret it later!

I doubt I will make any better scores than these so I'm posting them now:

Floor: http://willhostforfood.com/access.php?fileid=44101
Score: http://willhostforfood.com/access.php?fileid=44102

New floor record, and second best score/combo Smile
