D_VONK!!!  Razz

Hehe, I was looking at the FLD stats. Stipe and D_Vonk are about 70 days spent online. But that might have been an accidental log on all day sort of thing, though. Razz

But I was looking at the stats by month, GEEZ! Popularity has sure gone down... Sad December 2007 I think FLD was at it's peak of popularity.  Neutral

Ah, the good old days, huh? I wish it was more like that again! New posts every second, new topics every 6 hours, you know. Razz

Yeah, I actually noticed some stats as well. Interesting use of the word "waste" in the topic name. Laughing
The number of members who sign up to the forums decreases significantly every time the software is updated. This depicts that most "members" are actually bots.
The total posts in the forum is significantly lower than Brawl in the Family forum, which started in June last year.
The Most Online stat hasn't been beaten in more than a year.
The board count has more than doubled since the start of 2007.
The Male to Female ratio has decreased from 12.x:1 to 8.4:1 since... when it used to be at 12.x:1.
Jordz is catching Stipe in post count. Xiagan is catching me in post count.
The Basements still rules as the most active board.
The "What are you listening to?" topic is the newest topic in the Top 10 Topics by replies.
My "The Wii Club - Gaming just got Personal!" topic is the newest topic in the Top 10 Topics by views.
Johan has well and truely overtaken Stipe as top topic starter. At the time of this post, I still am not in the top topic starters.
I have dropped from 4th to 8th in Most Time Online.
The forum hasn't had as little posts in a month as April 2009 since October 2006.
Most Online hasn't gotten close to triple digits in almost half a year.

And that's some mildly interesting extracts friom the stats!

Wow.. I didn't look that deep into it.

But *sigh* I wish it were like it was in 2007.

yeah yeah I know Razz I am pretty no-life. But usually when making homework, I open all my forums and press F5 every 15 minutes, without actually doing anything, so that's how the high number shows up.

D_vonk said it. F5 each few minutes, and you will get to the top! Wink

Well, yes. I remember having all highest stats, except for impossible "most posts" one, where I was 2nd. But, be sure that I won't get them back anymore. Razz
Sure, Johan had to beat me in "top topic starters" (all the announces and stuff), but I may easily be passed in other categories, just like D_vonk did and Jordz will.

Yeah, I felt like this forum was going down, too. This forum is too poor for so high popularity of Free Lunch Design.

I say we start advertising FLD! I already lured a few other people here, but they didn't want to do it. Neutral

I think it's because I sort of left Icy Tower... Razz

Also, Dragoon left FLD, too. He was a serious contributer! Sad

IMO, I think that when Icy Tower 1.4 comes out officially, I'll come back to IT, and everyone will come back, if you ask me, IT has fallen badly. The Basement rules lately. Sad

But I hope to see FLD grow again one day! Very Happy

I don't mind that the forum's become slightly quieter of late than usual. I visit 5 different (6, when the Wii Club is back up) forums around the net so the less posts there is the less stress there is on me to look through them all. Razz

Heh, typical Mushy and his stats... Very Happy

70 days sounds like a lot, but... say, if you're online two hours a day (which isn't too unreasonable, I don't think), 12 days would make up one FLD day. Given that, you'd rack up a total of 30 or so FLD days in a year... so it'd take two and a half years to get to where D vonk is now, if he was here for exactly 2 hours each day. It's not like he stayed on 70 days straight and I think it's safe to say that more than half of that time was spent refreshing the index page, so it's not as ridiculous as it might first seem. Razz

Oh, and on me catching Stipe's post count, yeah, I've been keeping my eye on that for a while. I remember he had around about 600 posts next to his name at the time I registered here, and I had a few months shortly after I joined where I didn't visit here or post at all, so... bleh, I'm just thinking out loud. Post counts don't mean crap to me anymore. Wink

Yeah, I remember when John Beak started the Biggest Spammers topic. He was about to reach 5,000, Stipe was close to 2,500 and I was near 2,000 (I forget actually, but yeah). Jordz passed me ages ago, even though I joined up earlier and was way out ahead of him. I haven't made much posts or clocked up lots of time since November last year.
I actually spend more time at the Post Reply screen than anything else. FLD times out your session after 15 minutes, so all the time I spend on my really long posts is gone. Personally, I don't like seeing that I've spent 29 days here on FLD. It looks worse in days too. :S

On the subject on forum activity, I'm completely active on no forums at the present time. Here at FLD I don't read The Tower or The Arcade. There's another forum I'm on where I only read certain boards. There's one other I only read and post in one topic. There's also the Unussapiens forum where Geti is an administrator that I go on occasionally. It's very inactive. Finally, I sometimes go onto the Sonic Retro forum for the sole reason of checking out, and posting feedback, on Sonic the Hedgehog 2 HD, since Sonic 2 is one of my childhood games and I'd love to see the fan-made project succeed.
I'll probably eliminate activity at some forums when The New Wii Club is open.

Nope, he really just comes on, posts and leaves Razz while you have others coming, do other things on other websites, maybe post a few times, then leave.

My account got accidentally deleted by Johanp once and I lost all my stats. I had 10 days online back then, and if you add it to my current time spent online, I would probably be in top ten, but not so high.
The forum adds time on any activity within 15 minutes from last activity. I rarely add 14 minutes by coming back just before the period expires and not doing anything. I also never refreshed the forums just to add time to the counter.
I also ignore few tl;dr topics where I have nothing to say, such as the Wii club (I want a Wii, too! But I don't have anywhere to place it in my room Sad) or the emo threads.
Maybe it has something to do with how I browse the forums - I open all the unread topics at once instead gradually adding time as I'd slowly browser through all the boards. If there's no topic worth replying, I only get one or two minutes added even if I kept reading for half an hour.

ROBLOX forums is the forum with a post a second, a thread each 10 seconds. Trust me, your thread sinks to the bottom easily over there on RT or OT
